Parent Referrals I have been taking my daughter to Betsy Carter for 4 years now and have recently began to bring my 3 month old son there as well. I feel extremely lucky to have Betsy as my children's daycare provider. I am able to go to work, worry free, feeling my children are safe and well taken care of. Betsy cares for all of the children in her home as if they were her own. There are some days where she has one on every arm and leg because they all want to have their "Betsy". The structured environment that The Crayon Box provides has been great for my daughter. After going to The Crayon Box, getting my daughter down for a nap became a million times easier. I am amazed by all the things that my daughter has learned while in Betsy's care. To our surprise, last year on vacation our 3 year old recited "The Pledge of Allegiance" out of the blue. I have no doubt that my daughter will be more prepared for Kindergarten than most other children her age and I give a lot of credit to Betsy and her passion in educating the kids in her care. Betsy and her family have become a part of our family. I would recommend Betsy Carter and The Crayon Box to anyone that wants a secure, loving, educational environment for their children. When Wesley was going through a tough time with diaper rash, Betsy took the added time to make sure the creams were applied and helped it heal quickly. The most important thing to me was to find a place with a secure, loving environment where my daughter would feel comfortable and safe. We were in the process of moving her from another in home daycare and I was looking for stability so we would not have to move her again. From our very first meeting with Betsy, it was apparent that the children were her top priority. I could tell Sophie felt comfortable and I really liked the way everything was so organized in our welcome packet. I appreciated that there was a policy book in place so we knew what to expect right from the start. I felt Betsy and I were on the same page with parenting. I also liked the fact that there were far fewer children than in a facility meaning my daughter would receive a lot more one on one attention and not just "be a number". Another important factor in our decision was convenience. I knew from the start that I was looking for a place that would be conveniently located to my workplace since I would be traveling there twice a day. My time with my daugher after work is so short and precious, that I did not want to have to go out of my way to drop and pick her up. It so happened that Betsy was located very close to my place of work which has been great. It eased my mind that I could get to my daughter in a matter of minutes if I needed to. Lastly, cost was another top priority to us. We live on a fairly tight budget and it was important to find something that would keep us within our budget. We felt Betsy's tuition was reasonable and a good fit for our family. We have had a great experience at The Crayon Box. It has been wonderful seeing Sophie grow and develop over the past year and I know Betsy's influence and guidance has played a huge role in that. Sophie has learned a lot by being around an array of age groups. We have truly felt part of the Carter family and it has been a wonderful experience.
